So I used CardMatch and it matched me with BCE and BCP from amex. I am not apping, I just wanted to know other users experiences with using cardmatch?

I think it's garbage. It just matched me with BCE, BCP and Delta Gold...right along side First Premier.

I wonder if the cc companies are paying to be matched with consumers or are buying their info to be used to offer promos

No they make money through affiliate programs. I used to own an affiliate network and the CC offers pay big bucks. This is just a tool that helps them generate more leads.

They soft TU on CardMatch...so if your TU is better shape than your other CR's then it could be a false positive. I'm not sure how they figure what you're matched for but I have a theory that its strictly on score. I had a month where why TU was below 700 and none of the Amex's showed up. Next month score was back up and Amex's showed up again. In full disclosure Amex pulls EX and did with me which is my worst CR and I was denied but that's a whole other story.

I agree with others here that its obviously some deal with the Credit Card companies and this site to "influence" consumers towards specific cards. Still its nice a nice ego boost when those Amex and Venture cards show up in the list.

The info and advice on this site will be far more valuable in determining which cards you will most likely be approved for.

I have been matched with the same exact cards for years....even with totally differnt scores (hundreds of points differences)....so i dont think this is very useful or accurate...

I've never been matched with anything outside of cap one! I currently have far better cards than anything cap one offers!

Isn't CardMatch the one where you enter your information in a subjective manner?

I haven't used this site in a while, but I'm sure you had to enter your own information and it'd give you card offers based on that.

If so, that alone makes it something completely unreliable. A lot of people tend to be a bit "nicer" to themselves when filling those outs.
And even when you use creditcards.com and you use the "Good" category, it lists "Excellent" cards. I was very weary about using it because I could have easily been good for most cards but not excellent to others.

I think it's a fun tool to use, but nothing more than entertainment.

Hell, if AMEX couldn't even suggest the right card for me, why would I believe this website?

No, CardMatch requires your social and soft pulls your CR (someone said TU). So it has access to your actual report, but it's still BS. And they're going to push cards that pay them the most.

I agree there's a fine line, but with equal products, I see nothing wrong with recommending the one which gives me the larger kickback. However, to place First Premier with the Amex BCE would be crossing that line of plausible impartiality.

I'm not blaming them. Just saying that there is a conflict of interest. Their goal is not to find you the best card. That's why it's better to come to a place like this and see what cards are best for your credit profile. Plus you don't have to hand over your social to a 3rd party.

As consumers, we should always be aware there's always a conflict of interest with every organization or entity we deal with in every facet of life.
