Be careful with HSBC

DH's BestBuy account was late by a few days in Nov. Once I discovered I had entered an incorrect acct # in our autopay program, I immediately called and made a nice payment.

He also has HSBC - GM Card. Now HSBC is watching him.

I have a big surprise for them....ain't gonna catch us doin' no wrong!

Be careful is right. Last Oct I was on vacation & simply forgot about the due date and was 2 days late. They dinged me with a hard INQ.

Exactly fishbc! Make a game of it by paying well before the due date, every time. That'll show them! LOL

Once when I had them claim I entered the wrong checking acct # (I have no idea how because I always copy/paste), payment did not go through, my account was frozen for 20 days so I couldn't charge, I was charged $35 fee for insufficient funds, and when I made another early payment on the account they held the money for over 2 weeks without actually crediting it to the account. All further attempts to have this fee waived were unsuccessful.

Unfortunately, I was unable to close them at the time because they were my highest limit and all my limits sucked.

Now, thanks to you guys, I have normal cards and they're in the sockdrawer permanently!

BB-MC and HSBC -- really aggravate me.

They have the worst online payment terms of all my cards - must set up at least 2 days before the payment date (safer with 3) lousy cutoff time, lousy posting and only 2 online payments allowed per statement.

Let's not even start with their reportng policy.

For these reasons they are on my bury before next AF hits.

My checking is with HSBC as well so I have it set up online that I make a payment every payday, which is every two weeks. This way I can't forget and they get at least 2 payments per month. If I buy something, I pay for it immediately.

I have practically everything on auto. Nothing is late and it's so much easier. I just have bills that use a third party for auto payments, so I just make sure I check them EVERY payday, and if they are due, I do the payment myself online (this way it isn't third party). I haven't had a late payment in over two years this way!

Oh, and my savings is auto too!
