Freedom to Freedom Signature

I've had my Freedom for three months now. It has a 5K CL. I was thinking of asking Chase to "upgrade" it to the signature version, primarily for the signature benefits.

What is the best way to do this? Call the "exec" office, or send secure message?

Is there any reason they would not do this upgade? Also, since I expect my CL to stay the same will there be no pull involved?

My dad was approved for the signature version when he first applied in 2008... However I don't think he knew the difference because he never checks his report and he always pays in full.... The only reason I knew this was because he offered to let me use his signature back in December to buy christmas presents and toys for tots with... I was waiting to close on a house and I didn't want to touch my Down Payment money. He also let me borrow some downpayment money... so it all totalled to be 6k at the end of it all, and I paid him back when I got my bonus and income tax.

Your Chase account has a secure message center. They'll say yes or no within hours.

Can they do this without a HP? I've been thinking of trying to upgrade my Amazon.com Visa, but not right now, maybe in a year or so!!

Also, if you PC a card from Amazon.com Visa over to Freedom, do they do a HP, and if my card was PCed in the future, would I keep the same Account Opened on: date?

I called Chase.

They cannot upgrade the account to Signature. They said to apply for Sapphire Preferred, or to wait 12 months while Chase finds out my spending habits. LOL.

Thanks for the $450 Chase, I'll probably stick with AMEX & Penfed.
