JP morgan Selcet vs CSP

they seem to both have the same AF but i know that means nothing is one eaiser to get then another?

I have the csp and I inquired about the select card using their online message system, from what I gathered the requirements are about the same. 700's credit score, with a decent income.

The requirements are about the same. The CSP is a better card IMO unless you use rental cars a lot of travel overseas (and need an EMV chip).

Can you convert into it? CSP is better, especially 7% annual bonus and 2x travel/dining but I think the JPS has a nicer card design.

The only time the JPM Select Card is better points-wise is if you spend $100k+ in a year, upon which you receive a 25k points bonus. I do like the design of the JPM Select card (and it's more rare than CSP), but I think the CSP's metal makes it superior in the "look and feel" department. My $0.02.

Went ahead and applied for the card today. Instantly approved. The 6 month rule is defn a myth. :-) my collection is almost complete...

Just curious Jake, what made you want to get this card when you already have CSP?

That is why I went with the Hyatt Visa Sig card, for the chip and no forex. The chip is becoming a big deal outside the major cities in Europe, where smaller vendors do not have the machines or the knowledge to process our old swipe cards (or so I am being told). Only problem is they are chip and sig cards, not chip and pin, so they are still a problem at unmanned petrol stations and some train stations. Chase needs to find a work around for us, either a preassigned pin so we can access unmanned areas or a default we can use to bypass them.

Cool, makes sense. Enjoy the new card!

That's my one gripe with the CSP card, no EMV option. It's great that there are no foreign transaction fees, but not having a chip really takes away from that. It's too bad blink/PayPass/PayWave isn't an option either.
