Ok, after speaking with recon twice, I was able to get approved for $500 cl. It is low, but hopefully that will be change with CLIs in the future.

So now 8.5 years after bankruptcy, I have

Amex Blue Cash Preferred,

2 Citi Forwards (I didn't want two, a product change from mtvU caused this),

Walmart

Walmart Discover (anyone know if these can be combined?)

Orchard Bank

Best Buy Mastercard

Old Navy Visa

Discover More

Chase Freedom

Citi Dividend Platinum Mastercard

Congrats on your post BK credit journey. How long after BK did you get your AMEX. I'm only four years out and probably won't apply for another couple years but I'm just curious

I got my Amex Card almost 8 years to the day after I filed for bankrupcy. Before that, I had not even attempted to apply for one. You have better credit scores than I did when I was four years out. It sounds like you are doing pretty good. You have a decent limit on your capital one card. I have been afraid to apply to them because of my bk and not long after my discharge they gave me a card and I ended up being unable to pay it off. That has since fallen off my credit report.

From what I have read on here, I am surprised I have the cards that I do. It seems that many of my credit card companies don't like people with BKs.

I have been able to pull myself out of the pits of post BK by learning my lesson from it and from my learning a lesson with capital one. It is something I work hard so that it shouldn't ever have happen to me again. Hopefuly it doesn't happen to me again, but with the current economy it is a scary thought. It hasn't been easy, and still isn't.

I better watch myself because I have my eye on too many things. Like now, I really want a Chase United or Southwest, or the Sapphire. None of which I can get because my income isn't high enough, and I just applied for Chase. And I just got approved for the Citi Hhonors card tonight. They didn't extend much credit to me, they just moved credit around from one of my other Citi cards to this one and added a little.

You will find that applying for cards just becauseyou can right now, can have some detrimental impact to your scores if you go overboard with it. You have some great cards now. Live with them, use them responsibly and only apply for more credit if you really need it. You will be amazed in a year at where you scores are at. Congrats on the journey. Good luck with it all.
