Does Interstate move affect CCs?

I am likely going to be moving to a different state shortly and am concerned about how my CCs might react to that. I may be concerned about nothing, but would like to know from others' experiences if it affected you and how, or if it didn't?

I guess I'm concerned that they may take AA because of concern about steady income, increased expenses (I'm likely moving to a more expensive area - rent-wise, anyway, since it's a bigger city.), etc.

I don't really see how it would be relevant to your CC's. I guess I do see what your saying about job stability and all but no I don't think that's going to effect you. I think you might be looking into it a little bit too much. I'm pretty sure big time business men and woman move from coast to coast all the time and it probably dosn't effect them or their CC's. Just my two cents though.

i am just throwing this out there since i heard it some where but it may effect it in a way. lets say your state now has an avg score of 700 and you move to state with a avg score of 650 they may see this as bad because this area doesnt always pay bills. i maybe wrong

It probably doesn't make any difference these days but it did in the past. Back in the dark ages, mid-70's, credit was very localized. Visa and MC were issued by local banks in their local areas, move out of their area and they closed you down. Credit was severely restricted in the Nixon, Ford, Carter era and there were Federal rules governing who got credit, when and how much. This was in an attempt to keep price rises and inflation under control, even wages were frozen. Thankfully the Reagan era arrived and the problem was eventually overcome. We don't want to go back to that era. It was NOT pleasant.

Doubt it, make sure you update your address with the bureaus ASAP.

I really dont get that, thats profiling to me. I could care less about others worry about how I pay you!!!

Absolutely not.

I moved from Puerto Rico to New Jersey. I say, just give them a heads up. I tried purchasing a TV and right as I was finishing paying at Wal-Mart, I got a call on my phone about my purchase.

"Sir, are you in New Jersey right now?"

Oops.

Just update your address.

Shouldn't make any difference. Also never had to update addresses directly with the bureaus. Just notified my primary bank and they reported the address change to the bureaus.

I've done that and no dice, I had to manually submit the update to the bureaus.

What if I'm not sure of a new address right away? Would it be bad to keep using my old address until I have a new one?

They'll see usage in a new state, so does that matter?

Do I need to call all of my CCs and let them know I'm in a different state, even if I don't have a new address yet? (I'll probably be staying with family for a month or two until I find a place.)

No problem keeping your old address until you are ready to report the new address. I've done that many times with no problem. As long as you get your mail forwarded you got nothing to worry about. If you plan on using your credit cards in a new state it would be a good idea to let your creditors know it's you making those charges.
