Does AMEX automatically increase your credit limit?

Does AMEX automatically increase your credit limit or must you always request it yourself?

some say ask in 61 days,, i say 65 days, then ask for 3x ur current cl

Don't think Amex gives auto cli. You have to request. 61 days from activation or approval. Then once per 6 months until you hit 25k on soft inquirires

Of the past 5 years I've had AMEX, I've never gotten a automatic CLI. I have however been given one every time I requested until I hit the 20k mark.
