My mother in law (who is not a full member, just general public) has a MC with 10% APR.

My father is a full member and I joined through him back in 1989, and had a MC since 1993. My APR is 6%.

Interesting how their credit card products shift around. They used to have a standard MC and Visa, then a gold option (back in the 90s), then platinum, then the Visa went into hiding (you had to request it), then there was World Mastercard (now it's gone into hiding), then there was the Rate Advantage MC (now it's in hiding), Platinum MC and Visa are now advertised, etc. Weird.

Final app of the year in garden mode until May 2013. Just got approved for a USAA Platinum Visa 10.5K my highest limit so far. No more apps until May 2013 for my house. I went on a small app spree Discover More 6K approval, CLI Chase Military Star MC from 500 to 5K, Chase MWR Matercard 3K approval, USAA World MasterCard 9K approval and USAA Platinum Visa 10.5K Approval so no more apps until my mortgage this time next year. Thanks to this forum I have gone from low 500 CS to joining the 700 club and slowly working my way toward 800 Thanks for all the advice it truly paid off.

My Experian score dropped 9 points Equifax went up 5 points and TU dropped 5 points but everything should level out in the next six months with everything being paid in full and in a year when the inquiries dont really effect my score everything should be back on track for my mortgage.

Your limits would probably be effected as well for not being in the military. There are certain services and so forth that just isn't given to non-military members. I'm assuming the reason for such high rates for the military community is because our paychecks are generally direct deposited to a USAA account.

I've been a USAA member for almost all my my military career. I thought about moving to Chase but they have shown me time and time again that no one will match their customer service.
