How many Chase cards can you have?

Hello All!!!

I'm just curious how many Chase credit card can you have? I have 2 with Citi and they almost did not give me the second one as they asked me why I need another card. I'm not sure if my Home Depot card factor in when I applied for the Citi AAdvantage since it backed by Citi.

I have 2 cards with Chase, 1 for balance transfers offers and 1 for daily use. The only stipulation was 30 days between applications. YMMV. I think Citi questioning the 3rd card for you is due to the current economy. I have 3 cards with them including Home Depot store card. They were opened 2007-early 2008.

Thank you ocheosa - I have Chase Freedom Plus (I converted my United Mileage(member since 2002) last January) although not planning to app anytime soon just curious. In the future I would like to add one more card Discover or Nordstrom Visa or another Chase card.

Chase used to let you have as many cards as you wanted, but that could have changed since the last time I applied due to the current credit climate.

I have 2 ( freedom and united) and another 2 ( I applied an approved for Marriott and CSP). Soon I'll have 4 of their products.

Just one, the Freedom card. That's enough for me, I'm not a big fan of Chase.

The general consensus is that they have the best sign up bonuses so you might be missing out. As to how many Chase cards you can have, it depends on your individual profile. I've seen some people with 6-7. I myself have 4. Freedom, Sapphire Preferred, Amazon, and now the Palladium.

i have 3 - Freedom, MP Explorer and Marriott Rewards - use the Freedom the most, DW uses the Explorer for her business expenses and we use the Marriott mostly for Marriot stays

I know you can have at least 4 or 5. The thing is after about 3 you have to recon and explain why you need so many chase cards. Also, at the end of the conversation if it's still a no ask if theres anything else they can do. They're usually hesitant but you can get them to do a line transfer and borrow from your othe cards.

I was approved for Chase Freedom and Sapphire Preferred cards in March. On Monday, I applied and was approved for the SWA RR Premier card.

I have 5. CSP, Freedom, Hyatt, United Select, Southwest.

Never any problem getting approved for any of them. I am a very heavy spender on my Chase cards.

I have 5 Chase cards now (2 Freedom CCs (converted from other cards), United MP, CSP, SWA RR) and probably will add a hotel card in the future. My SW card is going bye bye when the AF comes due.

For those that have 3 or more, could you share your limits, cards, and time between apps? I am sitting on two, csp, and select, I'm very seriously contemplating opening a checking if I could get approved for the freedom. I'm more worried about reaching their internal limit as opposed to just getting declined for the card. I know I could pull from my other cards if need be. Any idea how they decide your internal limit? I know it is a proprietary formula, but there has to be some evidence.
