Hey All, I did some searches but didn't find out much about the mysterious spending ability button for american express.

I recentally tried hitting the button up for kicks just to see what would happen. I put in 19k, approved, 25k, approved, 30k, approved. My credit limit with Amex is currently $16k. Now, my mom just got into an accident and totalled her car. I was hypothetically playing around with the idea of jokingly buying a new VW on my amex card. What a joke of capitalism that must be! Swipe a card, walk off the lot with no car loan! LOL! If only I could afford the payments.

But again, has anyone had any success, or stories, in using the spending ability button on the AmEx site, and willing to tell?

I recently upgraded from the Blue Cash to the Blue Cash Preferred (Btw, BCP earns a net 7-8% cash back when using a CVS card in their stores. Useful for groceries, drugs, toiletries. They have a LOT of great coupons and members. I get a bi-weekly 25% off coupon. not bad.)

(766 credit karma score, havent updated my FICO in a year)

13.74% rate on amex.
