Amazon/GE CLI now 6 months not 4?

So I called after my fourth statement cut and got a message from the automated system that my account was not yet eligible for a CLI. Sending a letter in 7 to 10 days. So I call a CSR who tells me that new accounts are only eligible after 6 months now not four. Anyone else get this exploitation?

I've heard some other GE cards getting the same message. Sounds like they are changing the policy.

I opened WM in Nov. Got auto CLI in Feb, which is only 3 mos. But they have denied all CLI requests by phone. Go figure.

Got an auto-CLI after 3 months on my GE PayPal Mastercard, then got approved for another CLI requested by phone after another four months; that was last week. Auto CLI went from $1000 to $4400, then by phone to $6000.

I got an auto CLI on three of my other GE cards after the second statement cut, but not my Amazon.

Maybe thats the problem. I asked the day the fourth statement cut. I guess I'll wait a week and try again. Can I ask again within a 30 day period?

From what I've read, yes you can, unless something has changed. I waited close to 2 weeks after the cut myself. I hadn't asked within the previous 30 days however.

I called and asked about one on my Walmart card and was told the same thing .. i had one within the past 6 months so no CLI.

Also, Orchard Bank told me the same thing. Put in for a CLI, was declined. Had one 4 months ago.

I had to reply after reading this thread, i bet you there might be a new policy with ge with cli's now with 6 months instead of the usual 4, I have had a walmart card for almost 3 years now, never any problems in getting cli's every 4 months soon after my statement cut and no later, well today for the 1st time my 4th month was up requested a cli and was shockingly denied no counter offer stating will recieve a letter in 10 days. Can't wait for this letter.

I ran into the same thing with my Walmart Discover. I'll try again in two months I guess.
