If you get the 3-5 day message after an application then yes it gets sent over to lending for a manual review. You can't recon with NFCU but on the plus side if you get denied by the computer an actual HUMAN will look over your app for final decision

What do you mean an actual human will look over for final decision? She took my info, asked me if my CR had changed in the last 30 days and gave me the computer's decision. That was it. She said I'd get the reason in the mail along with my credit score.

Wonder if going in a branch will help?

what are you wanting to recon? ive never heard of a flat out denial for a credit product with them. if its not instant approval usually you get the 3-5 day message and it gets sent to lending for manual review. the 2 products ive apped for i got the 3-5 day message and the next day ill call card services and ask them to check on my app status right away.

Anyone know how "old" serious delinquencies must be for NFCU to approve a CC app? I have several 120 day lates on two of my student loans back in 2009. The student loans were made current then paid in full when transferred to another lender. So the lates are just over 3 years old and I have no other negatives.

TU 715 FICO

EQ 696 FICO

With those scores I wouldn't worry too much about those lates. You have a good chance. They approved me with a util bill reporting from 2007 for 196.00 I had 7 inquiries and only 8 mos. credit history. When i got my score in the mail it did specify basically stating I would've got a better limit but I have a delinquent account too new to credit and too many inquiries lol half of the inquiries are because of them!
