Could they denial have been as result of blacklist/internal score use?

I will also assume the scores you posted for her are FICO scores.

Amex Denial Question

I recently applied for my wife a Discover Card.. Approved with $1900 CL.. She is super happy

so .. We tried Amex.. They denied her with the reason, her score was too low.. Her scores are

Eq: 749

TU. 686

EX: 657

They didn't say which score they pulled.. My question is.. Do you think its worth calling recon? Based just on the score.. No other issues?

It depends on where you received those scores and yes I think it would be worth the call.

I have no idea how AMEX decides which application to approve. A year ago my score was in the lower 600's .. When I applied this month my EX score was 689 and I got approved for the BCE and Green.

amex doesnt do recons. they pull experian so with your denial letter you will get your score and the reasons for denial. if their reasons for denial are accurate then there is nothing to recon. ive seen this many times
