Cap One Income Verification Takes long time!

Hi All,

I got all excited when I checked my TU fico and saw that it was at 615 (I had been hoping to hit 580)

So I went to the capital one website and decided to see if the pre qual would offer me anything other than secured cards.

To my surprise it reccommended the platinum card for average credit instead of the rebuilder card, so of course I couldn't help it and I applied.

I was hoping to get an instant yes or no but I got the 7-10 day notice.

I tried to call the status line and they said I had to send income documentation, but I had to wait for the letter that had the reference number on it.

When I finally recieved the letter, I faxed everything in and thought "ok, now it won't take long to get an answer"

Well another weeek goes by, I call again and they still say it is pending and may take upto 3 weeks!?

Geez! I thought they could make 60 second decisions lol

I just hope after all this they are actually considering giving me an approval on it.

Will let you know if I ever get an answer!

I had exactly the same experience. I applied for the Cap one Green rewards card about three weeks ago. That was before I got approved for Chase and AMEX. I called to check on the status of the application and they told me to send them income verification. I did and I called again to make sure that they got it. They told me to call next week again to see if a decision has been made.

CapOne asks for income verification? Seriously? Income verification for a sub $1,000 card? What documents did they ask you to submit if you don't mind me asking?

i doubt it given the op's scores and what not its prob for the 300-500 subprime card

Thats crazy ive never heard of cap1 doing this. His app must really have been borderline. Hope he gets approved.
