AMEX product ?

Is anyone a member of the Travel and Leisure Elite program from AMEX? It gives members access to travel savings, premium travel services, free upgrades and discounts at member restaurants. I received an offer in the mail for it over the weekend. They give you (2) free $100 restaurant certificates with membership. Yearly membership fee is $80. I was just curious if those of you who have it, are you satisfied with the membership and service at participating merchants. TIA.

You will get offers like that CONSTANTLY. We get them bi-weekly or at least every 3 weeks.

Never heard of it, but sound interesting. If AMEX is putting their name on it, I would imagine that it's a quality product.

I vote to shread it! I belive the small print says up to $100 per certificate. I think I read something about minimum purchase or a network of restaurants. This was discussed weeks ago on the forums but I didn't comment on it so I have no idea as to where to direct you regarding these mailers. I get them frequently aswell... really makes me feel all warm and fuzzy with their "special offers" for me

I looked into it one time. Can't remember the details, but I thought it was something like you needed to spend $200+ to use the $100 certificate. Basically, it was something where if you were already going to be having an expensive meal at one of the restaurants on the list, it was worth it, but otherwise it seemed like something that was just going to make me spend money I didn't intend on spending.
