Average age is 3.5 years. Keep in mind I'm 24. I have 2 INQ in the last 12 months - WalMart was denied when I had less than a 600 credit score in which I'm okay with now. I'm not really targeting any store branded cards. Also my primary CU denied me of another card when my score was 620 3 months ago, maybe I should reapply? I've been at this CU for 7 years with 3 postive loans with them.

As far as the lates. I had a reinstated REPO removed that I had to fight long and hard with on the same account. The lates are legit and the bank reporting went out of buisness and sold off. I'd rather let them drop instead of playing with fire and seeing the repo reappear. I'm very happy with my scores considering I was at 560 at the begining of the year.

I will also be looking at buying a new home towards beganing of fall. I know APP'ing for CC's are bad before applying but I'd like some benefits and to beable to garden a little bit better besides using my studen visa everywhere.

I was in the 625ish credit score area when I APP'ed with my CU with the Repo reporting. Now that it's off I would say I'm good to go... I've been with BoA secured for about 8 months now and should graduate soon. However, I hardly ever use the card. I'm not a fan of BoA and will likely keep the card open but searching for another big bank for a secondary account.

Do I stand a chance with AMEX / Discover ?

I would say no way on AMEX. Use the Discover preapproval link or try Cap One. I would also keep BOA open for a lot longer.
