Approved for Zync!!! Denied for BCE....

Man this forum is amazing. I went from having no credit card of my own a few months ago to an AMEX! Pretty awesome I must say.

Can I call recon regarding the BCE right now, or do I have to wait for for the denial to be accessible on the website? I also would like them to ship out the ZYNC to me as soon as possible.

Should I apply for any other non-amex cards? Or just garden for 6 months and go with Freedom?

I would garden for 6 months before going for anymore new credit.

I am not saying AMEX would approve you for a BCE, but if you apply before midnight (or is it within 24 hours?) they will look at the same pull they just got and not do another one. If they decline you for a BCE will this make it harder in 6 months or a year for you? That answer only the AMEX gods know...

I don't know if I got lucky or the system is lying to me, but I put in another application for BCE because I never got an email about being denied for BCE, and it says the new application is pending further review It says to "Please check back on this site in 24 hours". Should I call or wait?

Kind of a bittersweet day.... My dad died 8 years ago from Pancreatic cancer on this day

You should have reconed the BCE already, even before applying for Zync.

I applied for the Zync first tonight. Then I applied for BCE which I though I was denied for. Then I applied for BCE again because I didn't get a denial email, and now it says my application is under further review.

Just got my Zync in the mail. I am disappointed because the Member since date is 2012, rather than the year I was added as a AU on my Mom's card in 2008.

I called the # on the card, and spoke with a suprivisor who researched for like 15 minutes and came back to tell me that what she was was reading was saying that only cards you open count for the backdating. I told her that it use to be that way, and she put in a request for me.

I wonder if I screwed up? and have waited to call the Executive Office....

The backdating would be great for me...

Congrats! Have you made an online profile for AMEX yet? Check the member-since date there when you log in...

I did make an online profile with AMEX. I didn't make a purchase yet, but the Member Since is 2012, and the website says "THANK YOU FOR BEING A CARDMEMBER SINCE 2012".

Ouch. You may be able to convince AMEX to give you the backdating. Do you have the old card or something?

It could very well be a policy change as well....I've read stories on here of it going both ways, honestly.

Well.. I actually removed myself from the card a month ago. Although my Mom is great standing with AMEX, she does have a high utilization which was killing my chances of any creditor giving me credit.

I really don't see how it should be considered that much different than someone opening an AMEX, cancelling it, and then opening another AMEX and getting the old Member Since date.

My Mom has been a loyal AMEX customer since 2000, why can't they show some love to her son? I'm not asking for much....
