BOA Bank Americard Travel Rewards

I'm thinking about applying for this card, mainly for a replacement to my Chase Sapphire Preferred which will be cancelled at annual fee time.

This card is 1.5% travel rewards, no AF, no FTF, and a Visa Sig.

I have never banked with BOA before, and I'm not entirely sure I want another account/website to check. Anyone have this card? My fears are that BOA may make redeming the points a hassle. My EQ is 726, and I have 10 inquiries in the past 2 years.

Before dumping your sapphire preferred you should take a look at this article Sapphire vs. Sapphire Preferred

Main point of consideration for you -

" If you don’t take advantage of the bonus spend categories and you spend less than $592 a month and don’t need to use the card abroad, this card is for you. If you spend more than that monthly amount, then the 7% bonus and 25% increase in the value of the points would make up for the annual fee of the Sapphire Preferred card. ($7,102 spend would earn 7,102 points x 1.07% for the annual dividend = 7,599 points at 1.25 cents a piece = $95). " - The Points Guy

Besides that tidbit of information about how to get to the AF. I think it's a heck of a card. As far as a relationship with BOA. I have a banking relationship with them that I am slowly dissolving. Not due to poor customer service. I love their online banking but tired of the ATM fees, if I can't get to a BOA ATM. Matter of preference, no major complaints.

Although I will say they just rolled out these new rewards cards and I don't find the reward structures to be attractive compared to other offers, cards, etc. Their 1-2-3 cash rewards is like a BCE ....same thing, different flavor. They're all pretty basic.... except, the BankAmericard Privileges which has an AF...smh.

I just converted one of my 3-2-1 Cash Rewards Visa into Travel Rewards Visa. I think it is a good card to have. I think you can get approved with your card. They usualy pull TU. By the way, do you have any negative on your TU? Keep it mind. Don't carry any balance on the card. They might CLD or close your account. They soft pull TU every month for account review.

did they do a hard pull for converting the card? I have 2 CCs with them and plan to convert one of them to travel rewards.

No, they didn't HP to convert the card. It took 3 weeks.

There is really no use if you have balance in the card since you will going to pya for the interest as well.
