AMEX Gold premier rewards.

After receiving an Invitation in the mail to apply to the AMEX Gold card. I decided what the heck and applied, and to my surprise I was approved to the Gold Premier Reward. It has been a great month for me, first I was approved to my auto loan and now this. Btw, when I started my rebuild journey after I found out about this forum only two months ago my FICO TU was 607, today is 662. If I can do it anyone can do it.

Congrats the approval !! It's a great card for accruing MR Points Do you have any idea where your EX FICO score might be ~ is your EX report similar to your TU report ?

Well my EX Fako through USAA is 652, so I guess it should be pretty similar to my FICO, or I might be incorrect?. The more I read about this card the happier I get. No more debit charges for me...yay!!!!

No, unfortunately correlating a FAKO score to FICO doesn't really work ~ but if your EX report is similar to TU then you might be able to infer that they are similar....

You can't PC to anything from zync, you have to just apply again and take the HP but will probably most definitely be approved. I did it to the PRG Card after 11 months and the BCE too.

Plus you will get the 25,000 MR points which I think personally is worth the HP.

Just added PRG to existing Zync last week. In the fine print:

"Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have had this product within the last 12 months or any Consumer ZYNC®, Green or Gold Card account within the last 90 days."

Looks like bonus points would still be available to Zync holders adding something other than Zync, Green, or Gold.

First year's AF still waived, though.

You mean you added PRG to zync as in you now have both cards? I got PRG after having Zync for 11 months, just last month and already spent the $2000 and got the 25000 points. Or you mean you PC zync to PRG, I was told by 3 different amex reps and a supervisor no zync could be upgraded even after 13 months. I did get to keep my zync points which went over to regular MR points when I got the PRG plus the 25000 points. So I am glad they didn't upgrade.

Correct -- now have Zync and PRG. Will probably let Zync go when its year is up in October, then pick up BCE in January.

Interesting that you got the sign-on bonus points. The restriction is in the online info for the PRG bonus, and the CSR who took my app by phone read a script saying that I wasn't eligible because of existing Zync. Also saw several people squawking in the Amex card reviews about not getting the bonus -- they only found out about the restriction after fulfilling the spending requirement.

Hadn't thought about converting Zync points to MR points. Will look into that -- thanks for the tip.

Wow , I would only think you would not get the bonus points if you upgraded (for example) green to PGR or something like that. I reached 2000 spending on day 4 of second month and no lie the 25000 points were in my account not even pending the next day.

AMEX sucks big time!!!!. Well, I called AMEX today, I asked the CSR about the 25,000 points and the first year AF waive, the CSR told me "sorry you dont qualify for the bonus points because you applied over the phone" what!!!! I only applied through the phone because the" system" was down and the "system" instructed me to finish the app over the phone...BS if you ask me. I explained this to the CSR and his supervisor and both of them basically told me that they could not do anything about it.

Following the advise of the CSR I cancelled the account and I applied again online (another HP) and guess what.... I was declined. I am so furious right now, 2 HP for nothing. I don't know if I had to wait 30 days to re-apply or they put me on some kind of black list because I was really mad with this situation. Thanks for nothing AMEX.

Just to update, I just applied to the Chase Freedom and was instantly approved $6,000 CL. I know is not the AMEX but this card has great cash rewards

plus no AF. I am planning to use it heavily for the next 6 months and try for the Sapphire(that is the one that I really want). Let the gardening begins.

Congrats... although I would indicate to you that if you're not using the new Gold card heavily it may not be justifyable to pay a high annual fee. If you find you aren't using it a lot, you could always downgrade it to a card with a lower annual fee

Well my saga with AMEX continues. This morning I decided to use one of the back door numbers listed on the sticky post and was able to talk with someone at the executive office. I explained to him what happened to me yesterday, he then transferred me to an account specialist to process my recon. My "declined "status changed to "in process " while I was talking with him. After waiting about three hours my account status shows "approved". I immediately called to confirm the information and Indeed my application was approved with the bonus points and AF waive.

Yayyy !!!!happy ending for me.
