WaMu is definitely "random." Some customers get increases like clockwork every 6 months...and some never see one after years of being a customer...it is definitely a wacky company! I've been with them three years now and i have gotten several increase, my sister, who has similar credit and the same card has received no CLIs...go figure!

Message Edited by pjriverap on 01-21-2008 10:35 PM

Does anyone have any info on how to get in contact with someone on the phone who can actually make a decision and not read off a screen or out of a handbook?

I asked what does it take to get an increase and this CSR said timely payments and not going over the limit. I have never went over mine, I have paid it on time. For a month I carried a $1000+ credit on the account.

4 years of a very high variable APR and not one increase does have it's breaking point.

She said they can't contact the department that reviews accounts which I think is a load of............

Any help is appreciated.

I will say don't hold your breath. That is about par for the course. WaMu either increases or doesn't increase and no amount of will power seems to alter that.

I have had my card since March 2006 at the same limit of $1500 at 24.99% APR - never an increase. I have not been treated this way with my other credit products from major lenders. If you don't understand how increasing a credit limit can help, it would be useful for you to read Credit Scoring 101:

http://ficoforums.myfico.com/fico/board/message?board.id=ficoscoring&thread.id=2654

As an example, I have a total of $52K+ credit limit on my cards. Right now, I have a balance of $45 showing on one card period, which has already been paid off. I don't remember the last time I carried a balance or paid a finance charge.

Available credit is the complete opposite of debt. Knowing how to work this is being smart.
