EXPRESS STORE CARD

I applied a month ago for the express store card because i got a preapproval.. gave me 7-10 day message... im still waiting for the denial and i called today and csr told me

they couldn't find my application... I decided to reapply and got another 7-10 days again!!!!!.. they didn't do a hp on my first app... am hoping that I wouldn't get denied twice.... am making progress on my fico scores but i just can't stop applying... I would like to apply for a prime in december but every time i see my scores go up, I always think that I have a shot ..... help!!!!! does anyone think that express would pull twice???? or do a hp???? even if it's been almost a month.....

I would probably call them and see if you can recon..I mean you already took the hit on your credit, why not??

I didn't see them do a hp on any of the bureau's.... they did a sp on my equifax on 6/04.... but i applied 6/09.... and never go a letter.... i called them and he said he could not locate my application... so i decided to try it again..... i applied for a nordstrom visa and got denied and they told me to go in the store and apply for store card with my license so they can reprocess the app.... it sux cause I can't stop myself from applying.....

I would not have applied again... when you do the app from the pre-approve it's no HP... if you apply without pre-approval will most likely be HP unless the system is smart enough to stop processing app when it hits an app already in process.... WFFNB is known for wanting to do 3rd party verification... a company needs to ask 3 or 4 questions, really random (You have a wife, What is her name? , You had white car in 1996, what make was the car?, stuff like that)

Try to call back and escelate up the phone CSR chain to get someone to locate and do verification or what not... or figure out where your apps keeping going that they can't find!

the csr was pretty surprised when i said i got preapproved.... he said i should've gotten a response by now... the card or a denial..I'm probably done and won't even bother with it... as long as it wasn't a hp..... i applied so much the past 2 months ..... i have inquiries on TU:4 EQ:4 EX:3 ... I'm trying to improve my score .... brought my util down.... I just love seeing instant approvals... I'm just itching to get one more CC before I garden for 6 months... I'm thinking about zync, discover, or citi plat select..... got denied for zync and citi last april and discover last month.... i have one CO coming off from my EQ ... should i reapply for discover?? i have a 5 baddies from 4 years and one collection that I just PFD

One of the easiest cards to get...

Hold off on apping for prime until you're sure u can get this one.

1. I don't see the point in not continue efforts to get someone at Express/WFFNB and get this card approved, it's stuck in system somewhere Im sure for security check, it's not a reconsideration, you probably never got declined.

2. I don't see the point of applying to Discover "Cold APP" They have a wonderful pre-approval now and if that doesn't kick an offer back I wouldn't apply.

3. I would however apply for Zync... They have made HUGE changes to who they will let in and the different Zync options to get that foot in the door.

Ill probably give express another call and ask..... i shop there a lot that's the only reason why I applied... and then I will try my hardest not to apply for anything else but zync on july after my CO falls off... then I will apply for discover and citi on december..... am crossing my fingers on zync .... my EX score is not that high though... once the collection falls off it will probably be 640-660.... can anyone tell me what scores and baddies they have prior to getting this card?

Got an instant approval from them a year or so ago simply by putting a few items in my Shopping Cart on their website. No HP, approved for $1000. Still haven't used it because they don't really give special coupons to card holders...

Express is wonderful to their cardholders! I receive lots of coupons in the mail and online! They also have private sales for cardholders once a month or so where everything is like 50% off online! This sales usually starts at 11:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. You get an email from them about it. Express is the bomb! Great card to have! This is a bit off subect, but they've also recently upgraded their credit card website. It's alot easier on the eye. The last website was very outdated.

I shop there a lot and the preapproval just sux... they have sales almost every week... I called again and the lady told me to go to the store and let the manager know that I did a preapproval but having trouble with the application..... I don't really want the hard pull so I'll pass on this one.... It is so darn hard to be in the garden.... I even wonder if it's normal to be a credit addict....lol

I too applied for the express card using the pre-approval pop up. It would tell me we were having a problem processing your request and then it would give me the 7-10 day timeframe. I never received a denial letter from them in the mail. I don't even see the sp on my credit report. I think something is wrong with their pre-approval. I also got the pre-approval from the buckle store, it told me I was pre approved for 250.00. I applied, got the 7-10 day message, never received a denial letter. Something is wrong.

Sorry to hear about your application problems with Express. I had a similiar problem when I applied. I didn't get a preapproval, but when I applied back in January online, I ran into trouble as well. After I filled in the application and hit the button to process, it took forever to process and the website froze on me. So I called in to their Customer Service and he said they didn't even have my application so it didn't go through. So I went ahead and tried again (at that time I had no inquiries so I was able to take this chance). The second time I did it the SAME thing happened and I exit out the website and when I logged back in the Express account information was added to my payment area! I was so excited!! I still called in to their Customer Service just to confirm since I had not received any sort of "Congratulations' screen. They confirmed it had been approved. Seems like their online application is extremely glitchy.

thanks for the responses, glad to know i wasn't the only one having issues.... I don't really wanna apply in store cause it might be another hard pull... it's probably a sign to garden!!!! lol... something i just can't do *sighs*

I used to love using my Express card... It helped me build my credit!!!! And they offer so many discounts/rewards. The new "Next" rewards/points program is not as good as the old one though lol
