Amex Cli worked

I have the TE Amex and today was my 62 day, so to the phone I went. I was asked my income and how much of a CL I would like. 3x would put me over the 25k so I asked for 20k and was countered with 17.5 k I accepted of course. This was a great day and I want to thank everyone for making it possible.

Congrats Boston! Quick question though: What do your other credit lines look like? Also mind me asking your income.

If I may ask, how much in expenditures have you been pushing through your card to warrant the increase?

Hey Crashem, I have a local CU CC at 20000.00, Citi Plat at 7300.00, Lowes at 8500.00 and a few others at 3,4 and 5k

Disc, I have pushed through about 1400.00 since the card was open and made 2 payments of 400.00 and carried a balance of 640.00 when I asked for the cli.

Thats good news Boston. Now you have a "prime" lender at high limit too. Bet in a little bit, you can probably get some of your other cards to match.

My issue with AMEX (still don't have one, getting close to qualifying for!) is they are not excepted everywhere, I guess you really have to pay attention to what the company accepts. Maybe the rewards outweigh having to always keep up with this, but your always need a visa/mastercard as a back up to it. I will end up getting one, only thing I can really see why I would think of steering away from them though. Also the 3x is every 6 months or 62 days? Still don't fully understand how AMEX does there CLI's

Assuming it is your first Amex revolver, you can ask for a cli anytime after 61 days (activation or approval. Not sure) of 3x. Doesn't mean you will get 3x or any cli, but they use the last soft pull they did of your credit report for account review. So there is no impact on your credit, but remember the don't usually do new soft pull so if your credit is borderline, doublecheck when they last soft pulled your credit and see if it reflects what your want. After a cli, you can ask every six months again with soft pull.

Thanks LS2982 and Bigdaddy, I thought an Amex product was out of reach for me but not anymore. It was the best feelimg to hear you are approved.
