When to apply second Credit Card

Hi Everyone,

I am holding CapOne CC with $750 limit from 8 months. I want to apply for CC offering bigger limit and offers. Which credit card should I apply and when. I am thinking to apply for Discover More card which is no annual fees and offering some cash back. Please suggest!!

My TU Score is 724, I have been denied by chase and BoA 2 months back. I have applied for 2-3 store cards last year before getting CapOne Card. So in totall I have around 5-6 hard inqueries in past 1 year. I am living at same residence from 1 year.

I have been paying CC dues on time and CapOne increased my CL from 500 to 750 after 6 months, i.e 2 months back.

Oh I'm just curious...why did BoA and Chase deny you? Short/no history?

Correct. All denials were due to short history. Now I have completed my 1 year at currect residence and have 8 month credit history with $750 CL. What are chances of approval of Discover More Card? Or should I apply any other card with approval chances?

OP, it may still be too soon to get a better credit card/line of credit; though getting 1-2 more cards should help your credit report another year from now. I would suggest getting 2 store cards (that report) and wait 1 year for the inq's to age and then apply for the discover and other cards. GL on your Journey.

Can someone suggest me which are easy to get credit cards at this time? I want to make good credit history .

Zales (jewelry stores), best buy, lowes, walmart, and secured c.c.'s. You will be looking at sub-prime cards, do some searching on the forums and look up what some people got approved at with income/credit score for the differnt cards. GL.

If you do decide to get the addiontal cards, wait at least 1 year before APP'ing for a bigger card; your chance will be greater then.

Wait 6 months for a major card.

If you want a store card, no need to wait. If you are a regular customer and expect to be for a long time, store cards are great for discounts and rewards and over time you can end with some very long history.

I have applied for Old navy Card yesterday and approved with CL $2000

So Now I have CapOne 750 (8 month) , Discover 1500 , Old Navy 2000. I think this will give very good credit history in next 4-6 months. Anways I have applied for Cap1 Cash Back card and denied, Citi Bank Visa which is under review.
