ive noticed from reading this forum that when your scores are low but you change your habits and trying to rebuild your scores will increase more often unlike scores in the upper 600s up to the 800s. its like when your really heavy and start exercising and you lose weight faster then somebody of normal weight. but when the heavy person stops and starts eatng like they used to they gain weight alot faster or in your case start making decisions that will negatively effect your fico then the damage will be more then if you had higher scores. idk if anybody is gonna understand what i said but, just know you dont want to lower your fico score anymore because you want to reach your goal. that should cure the itch to app.

What type of cards are you looking for? Rewards... what type? Low interest? Higher CLs?

What needs to be addressed before you have a chance of qualifying for the cards you want? Just starting out and building from a thin file? High util bringing scores down? Damaged credit and baddies need to drop off? Too many inqs?

Once you've decided on what it is that you're trying to accomplish, you can see what issues need to be addressed before apping for anything further. Then you address the issues and wait for time to do the rest. You also keep in mind that any premature apping will only set you back from accomplishing your goals, as you'll be adding inqs and, if approved for a card that you don't really need or want just to satisfy that urge for approval, you'll be dropping your AAoA.

In short, stay focused on your goals and what you need to accomplish them. Sometimes, it's just a matter of time, and there' s simply no substitute for it.
