Been a Macys card holder for over 6 years. Never made any late payments. I recently moved abroad and set up for auto pay. Well it turns out that auto pay was "never set up" and I missed 2 payments on my account. This dropped my score by 40 points! I tried calling the IT department to see if they had any issues witht he site but no one wants to help and they say nothing is wrong or has been wrong with Macys.com and that I never signed up for auto pay. At this point it is my word vs theirs!

Any suggestions? HELP please

Did you get a confirmation e-mail when you set up the suto pay? In my experience, Macy's sends confirmation e-mails for everything (payments received, bills, etc). Maybe you could look through your old emails for a confirmation that the payment was set up. How did you miss 2 payments, did you not receive or see the bill? It seems that after one month, someone should have noticed the bill was not paid.

Macys doesn't send payment confirmation emails, you can't even see past payments online. Their Credit Card online interface is horrible

Macy's and Bloomingdales are horrible with their own autopay. Dont use. I actually was using both for a while, their autopay and my own bank. Their autopay always took the money a day late...and for at least 3 days later the payment would be showing as late, even the one that came from my bank. They always fix by the time the new statement is cut, but its just a horrible practice (which made me make multiple payments sometimes due to worrying). I dont know why they're so behind the times with that stuff.

I have paid the account off and will never keep a balance on it again. But now since the damage has been done to my credit score...I was looking for a solution...I heard that there might possibly be a courtesy update where certain companies remove negative information as a one time courtesy? I am trying to apply for student loans and this is really affecting me!

I did not get a confirmation email. And I thought everything was set up. i didn't get any paper statements till the account went way past due and they sent it to collections. I have paid the account off and this is the ONLY negative thing on my credit for the past 6 years!
