Insufficient experience at current credit limit?

My limit on my Amazon card is $1100 and I wanted to buy a new DSLR with a lens which was around 1300 so I called and talked to a rep for a CLI of $200. She put through the request, but of course, got declined and she said I will get a letter.

I got the letter today and it says that they are unable to approve my request do to insufficient experience at my current credit limit. I got a CLI 2 or 3 months ago from $900 to $1100. I use this card a couple of times a month, but have never used it for a purchase over $400.

Any idea what this means?

Yah, it just means they want to see how well you manage your account at it's current limit before giving you any more. Usually 4 to 6 months for most CCCs is sufficient before gaining another CLI.

It means it's time to use your Chase Freedom card.

Joking aside, it just means that it hasn't been long enough since your last increase. They want to see how you handle $1100 for a while longer.

lol, Freedom is my primary card. I run everything through there, but sometimes I wanted to use my Amazon card for the no interest for 12 months. Oh well, I guess i'll just use my Freedom.
