So I posted about Amex being closed... Well yesterday I applied for my own card online and they had not opened yet so called after 9AM and got declined, then sent to someone else to look into getting approved and then sent to another department and she says, "We show a closed account that still has a balance, so as long as you have a balance on a closed account you can't open a new one... (Yes I do have a closed account, it was in my bk)

But so far she hadn't stated that... so I was trying to ask questions... very carefully!

I was like what year?

individual or joint?

Balance

Then she was like anything else I can help you with?

me - "No, Thank you so much!"

Has anyone experienced getting approved later on without paying a past balance?

Why do I keep getting double and triple nailed HP on APPS!! I have never heard of some of these banks it's happening on do it ever before!

Whenever you have a score that's not an automatic approval or denial, they sometimes double and triple pull you to see if there's any way they can approve you.

You do know that you can only be considered for the store card through the online application, right? You have to app in-store or call in directly to app for the AMEX version.

Well yes of course

I have had about 10 different accounts over the years.
