Since this is an AMEX card, will it be backdated as well? Or only cards directly from AMEX are backdated?

Only cards issued by American Express (the company) are backdated. Therefore, your card will not be back dated as it is issued by Penfed.

Only cards directly from AMEX can be backdated. Penfed does not backdate card.

Still a pretty good card and decent sign up bonus. However, I think you would have problems getting this card anyway. PenFed makes AMEX look like Capital One.

The only reason I would consider it was for the backdating and no AF. I have all the cards I need, just need to one more AMEX in about 6 months to up my AAoA, garden and grow my CL.

Crashem, I see you have a bunch of cards with high limits, what does it take to get them that high? Just over time?

I called them to see what the criteria was for acceptance and the csr basically told me anything over 700 and no recent inq. theres probably a little bit more to it though, like no baddies and longer history.. but yeah if you got all that and above 700 you shouldnt be denied!

go look them up on credit databases. A lot harder than that.

actually done pretty quick. Didn't really pay that much attention to credit and limits until this last year. But mycredit profile was good when I started and income is good. I expect most of my limits to be 30kish in a year. Won't go much higher than that as I want them to count for utilization
