How does one go about going for a CLI w/Juniper

I've had the card for a couple of weeks. I got the card due to a pre approval notice. CLI is only $500.

I just got a pre-app letter from juniper, may i ask what your score is? I was going to wait about a month or so before i apply because i am fixing up my baddies right now..

I talked to Juniper and I got the impression that they don't like second cards, don't give more than two cards to one person and don't like CLIs in the first month. But I had a 7,500 CL so that might have influenced their comments on the CLI.

They pulled TU only and my score at the time was about 780.

I got a Juniper Frontier Airlines card a couple of weeks ago (CL $4,000). After a couple of days, I requested a credit line increase via e-mail. It was declined. Much to my surprise a few days later I received an e-mail welcoming me to their US Airways card with a CL of $6,000. WTF??? The US Airways has a higer interest rate so I called to see if they could combine the cards and the answer was no. The cards have no AF so I ended up keeping both cards just to increase my available credit.

I've had a Juniper card for about two years. Started at $400, they increased it periodically... every 6 months or so? I think it went first to $900, then $1400, now $1900 - been that for a while now. I never asked for a CLI. I heard something about they don't go over $2K, but who knows? Just use it, pay it off and they'll increase you automatically after a while.

Mine started at 7,500 4 months ago. I don't intend to ask for a CLI untill it is at least 14 months old, and possibly not even then. But I will be interested to see if I get any automatic increases

I guess I'll just remain patient even though I really would like those scores to get up there in the 700's. I'm trying to purchase a home with the best possible scores. Thanks for the info.

Sunnybity, $500 is probably a good start. I was approved for $1500 on 6/07 and today when I called to ck the balance it was $188.80 with available credit of $61.20. It so happened that I also recd a letter in the mail today from Juniper advising that they reduced my CL to $250 based on an increase in inquiries and new accounts they have reduced my CLI. Of course, I did a balance transfer and I will put the card away in never, never land. Oh, well.

There are a couple of articles in the news section talking about this. It is becoming widespread and you might like to read them for info.

It has been my experience that Juniper Bank (owned by Barclays Bank of Great Britain) DOES NOT extend credit line increases upon request. They do, however, give automatic increses periodically. I've had my credit card with this company for almost a year and they started me out at $950 and then raised my credit limit to $1,950. Last week I called to request an increase and was denied (even though my TU FICO score was 700). I was also denied for a Barclays Barnes and Noble credit card, which tells me that they are really tightening up their credit extensions, even for good customers.

They definitely go over 2K. I have one, not cobranded just plain old vanilla.

The day they CLD me is the day my reports read closed by consumer.... Probably tomorrow. Junny is famous for this though.

I will give the Barclays/Airtran card a few months and maybe they will increase the CL. I got it since I fly Airtran a lot and wanted to earn the points for the free tickets. If they don't increase it I'll close it and use my Discover for all my travel. No love lost. I am glad that since it did happen it happened with a small bal so that I did not get stuck with any overlimit fees.
