Direct Merchants Bank

Does/Did anyone have a CC issued by Direct Merchants Bank. Any experience getting a credit limit increase or APR reduction? Any issues of concern with the company? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Have you tried doing a search here on direct merchants? I use the search box up on the top right. I know that I've read posts about them, but I'm afraid that I don't have any personal experience.

Is this a discover card? If it is then its just a marketing name issues by HSBC. For there Discover card. Just like Orchard Bank or House Hold Bank.

I have the American Dreamcard from DMB, which is as mentioned HSBC. CS sucks and they have not given me CLI upon request, but they did renew my 0% APR for another 6 months and decreased my standard APR by a few points.

I have a cobranded Direct Rewards Discover Card. That is from HSBC. But it started out as a DMB Card before HSBC purchased DMB. It is issued and managed by HSBC now.

I've had a direct Merchants card for around 7 years now. Received 3 automatic CLI, one for $700.00, then 2 for $1,500 (one of them last month after finally PIF my card). Overall, I've been satisfied with them though I'll only be using sparingly moving forward..

Were these CLI's given by HSBC or were they given by Direct Merchants Bank before the card was taken over by HSBC?

I received a Discover Card. Didn't realize just runs on the network so I am not eligible for the cash back. Had the card for over a year, no late payments, however I have received no CLI's or reduction in APR. Just wondered how they are to deal with.

The card I received is DMB Platinum Discover. What is Direct Rewards?

Direct Rewards is a co-branded Discover Network card that is issued and maintained by HSBC.

Is it better than the basic DMB Discover I received? WOuld it be worth my while to see if it can be converted?

I think they are both controlled by HSBC now (someone correct me if I am wrong). All I know is that I have only heard of only 1 (maybe 2) people ever getting a CLI on Direct Rewards card and that was recently.

I had a card for years with them with a decent $5k limit. Because I began using other cards and my balances were getting higher, they started inflating my interest rate without a word. I never paid late, and my fico score kept getting better during this time (I bought a house and used my other cards for some renos). I finally paid them off entirely. After 6 months of not using them, they canceled me due to inactivity. That's my experience with Direct Merchants.

yea I've had them for 3yrs and only one increase in that time they are hard to get increases and you can't ask for them. Hsbc is behind the card I'm closing them soon they don't lower rates. But I've had no problems with the card its just one of those cards that does'nt seem to grow with you like citi or usaa.
