I waited a month to see if they'd contact me or if I'd see a hard pull show up-- nothin. So one day I called in and the rep said there was nothing pending, offered to try manually for me, and said the system was requiring a hard pull. This was after my seventh statement cut, for what it's worth.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Discover CLI Available (Help!)</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;So upon logging into my Discover account, after 6 months of slugging away at my Discover balance, a CLI is now available to me online.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As my signature states (And I'll re-state)... my CL is at $6,000. I will be at about 2,600 of that by the end of this month.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;To those of you who have CLI experience with Discover, do they let you know if it is a soft or hard pull before you submit?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It's asking me for the amount I want and some employment information and I haven't gone past that because I really don't want it to be a hard pull. I've read in the past that some CLI's resulted in&amp;nbsp;a soft pull if you asked conservatively. I really want to get an increase on THIS account since it's the only one with a carrying balance on it.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So any advice, suggestions, or experience with this? (Specially those with soft pull online CLI's?)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks in advance.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I tried to get one online&amp;nbsp;but it didn't go through. I then called in and asked for a CLI. The rep asked me how much I wanted and I said 2K. I told her I didn't want a hard pull and she said, if the system gets me the CLI I requested, it would be a soft pull. If the system denied me and I still wanted the CLI, they would have to d o a hard pull. Their system did in fact approve my request and no hp has shown up on my credit reports.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Discover's luv button is a soft pull. If the system is unable to approve you for the full amount of your request, it will give you a counteroffer (so don't feel like you have to be too conservative in your initial request). You would then have the choice to accept the counteroffer (which would be a sp), or continue to request the full amount (twhich would result in an hp).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As long as they approve your initial request, or you accept their counteroffer, it will be a sp.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Got&amp;nbsp;a message saying they were making a decision and I'd be told in 2 days.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I hope they're not going to hard pull for either one. I'm 100% sure I hit Cancel, so I have no idea what it's thinking about. So, off went a Secure Message, wondering what's going on with this... we'll see.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I do not think you will see an HP on this. The system kicked it back and now it is "locked" from further clicks. I had the same thing happen to me, and it was like that for I swear a month. Every time I hit the button - same message as you stated in the post above. Finally, mine went away and I was able to try again.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Never saw an HP though...&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Decided to call in and try.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Shot down. &amp;nbsp;Got the "you will recieve a letter in 7-10 days explaining why" from the rep. &amp;nbsp; Got the letter today.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We were unable to accomodate an increase for the following reasons:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;BUREAU REPORTS HIGH BALANCE HISTORY ON BANKCARDS&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;BUREAU REPORTS TOO MANY BANKCARD ACCOUNTS WITH HIGH BALANCE&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;BUREAU-REPORTED RATIO OF BALANCES TO CREDIT LINES ON BANKCARDS&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Guess it will be a while before Discover will give me a CLI. &amp;nbsp;My FICO is at 732 and I do have some higher balances on cards I did BT's with. &amp;nbsp;These will go down over the course of the next year as I pay off the stuff at 0%. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But there is absolutely NOTHING I can do about "HIGH BALANCE HISTORY" which is their number one reason. &amp;nbsp;&lt;img id="smileysad" class="emoticon emoticon-smileysad" src="https://ficoforums.myfico.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif" alt="Smiley Sad" title="Smiley Sad" /&gt; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;EDIT: &amp;nbsp;I just turned the paper over. &amp;nbsp;I guess they also provided me with a TU FICO. &amp;nbsp;Not sure if it is 04 or what, but it was happy news! &amp;nbsp;No CLI but the FICO was 754! &amp;nbsp;Yea!!! &amp;nbsp; Might be an TU08 because that is about what Walmart shows. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Anyone know what FICO Discover uses?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The reason why I didn't call was because I was at work til 5:30 and then I had class from 6 to 9:30, so it was easier to do online.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I should have just been patient and waited until I had a chance to call in. At least I know now that $1,500 increase is a bit "too much" for them.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;And...
