Whats the Highest BOA credit limit given ???

Hello,

I was just wondering what's the highest limit Bank of America has given to anyone ?? I'm wondering about normal people not anyone that is worth 7-8 figures and is a privileged client....

I mean serious I always felt BOA will extend 20% of income to the Max, of course pay history and usage are factors but just wondering for anyone with an income between 130-150k whats the highest limit any user has from them ?

Ive heard of people having high limits...but those are likely the "priveleged" people you mentioned...Super high net worths, 800+ ficos :-/
Imo and experience, avoid boa if you can, they don't seem very friendly or loyal to their clients/customers.

They have been good with me touch wood... 2 years ago had a secured for 10k, year after they unsecured it to 3k...and approved 2 more cards back in nov 2011 for 2k each. So that was a total of 7k from them unsecured. As of Fridays CLI I'm now at 10k for the original unsecured, 7.5k on one and 8.5k on the other. So now my total credit from BOA is 26k... I'm hoping to get it to 50k in 2 years !!!

I have a BoA Cash Rewards Platinum Plus Visa and I've had it for nearly two years now. I still have the starting CL of $2000. I have put probably about $50,000 through it so far, so I guess BoA doesn't give CLIs based on usage. It's okay, though. I am getting higher limits from other cards if I need to purchase something more expensive, and if I pay BoA a couple times a month, I don't go over my limit with purchases. I like the rewards structure, so I'll keep it open.

But Lithium... Wouldnt you rather just have a high limit card that doesn't force you to make several pmts a month? Lol

My mom has a Bank of America card with a 25000 limit, but she got it back in the 1700s when she was like 20. Income is higher than you mentioned so maybe she can get an increase.

Yes but I was wondering the credit analyst told me that they like my payment history and usage and that I earned an increase... I made a 17.5k payment then asked...

I got approved two days ago for their Travelcard cashback card. They gave me an initial CL of $10K. I opened another BOA visa card three months ago and they gave me 5K. That was my first BOA card, so I was surprised to get a high limit on my second with the new account history.

Lenders change their policies all the time, and BOFA has actively been trying to fix their negative image / reputation that they've obtained over the years. Started back in June roughly, with multiple forum members reporting improved service.

Honestly the world has changed since roughly the mid-2012 mark, not entirely sure what happened but between changes in BOFA / Chase / Amex underwriting and associated policies, it wasn't an isolated event and I tend to lend more credence to reports of events which happened after that point, vs. before when we were at during the mortgage meltdown where every lender was fighting to stop their bleeding.

We have a BoA Platinum Plus with a CL of 10k. Definitely not the highest around here, by any means, but it's good for us. Annual income probably around 35k. I think it started with a limit of 1k, but that was a while back, so I could be misremembering.

I, too, was approved for a $10k line last week, with $75k income, with my $12k PenFed CC reporting, along with about $20k of other CCs reporting.

i was instantly approved for CL of $10K a month ago (Americard Cash Rewards Visa Signature).

i had an existing 4-yr old BofA Gold Visa w/ CL $7.9L, which was auto CLI'd to $9.4K at the same time (that was a surprise!)

income $90K

EQ=793, TU=777 at time of application

Most major banks will allow for up to $25,000 without requiring financial docs to verify income. Some will want to verify below that, but in generall...$25k is the answer to your question.

Hmmm okay...last CLI with them was over a year ago, was thinking about requesting $7500 from $6200, but no reason to risk the hard inq.
