Got my TU08!

So my Walmart card finally arrived in the mail and I enrolled for the free fico. I was suprised to see that my score was at 689! Not sure how accurate this is since I hear most lenders uses TU04? Correct me if I'm wrong. I hope it's not too much of a difference because I'm getting closer and closer to that 700+! lol

I'm waiting for my Walmart Discover card to arrive, maybe next week. They only gave me a $500 CL but that's fine because I really only wanted the free monthly TU08 score.

Congrats! I wish I got approved for the discover lol, but its fine GE will grow with me either ways. I only got accepted for $400, but the free TU08 is a nice perk.

They're so weird, I got $600 with way worse scores and I'm SURE a worse credit profile overall, lol. I'm also waiting for my GE card to arrive though, maybe my TU08 will shed some light on my situation.

FYI- My TU08 and TU04 seem to be up to 30 or 40 points different sometimes, with TU08 being the higher number. YMMV of course.

TU08 is usually more friendly to small mistakes, and doesn't factor in collections under $100 due to a Hollywood Video class action incident where people with $5 late charges had a tough time trying to buy a house (most were falsely added after they went bankrupt), Fico04 is harsher on the client so most banks prefer to use one that will generate them a lower score so they can find any reason to charge you a subprime rate.

My buddie got approved for 640 TU in discover apps

when he got his walmart Tu it's : 710 ......so Im not sure how accurate they are !!!!

This is good info, thank you. The TU we get from QM, how relevant is that as far as what banks use?
