Discover Approved & BoA CLI -- anyway to get a higher CL w discover?

I was approved for discover more at $4,000CL

I wanted a $6k line. Anyway to recon this? I called a number in a thread here and rep 1 said "What do you need it for" and I said a purchase (I don't really). He said "we only do it for CL transfers".

So I call back, this time to say a CL transfer (but my accumulated debt doesn't even hit 4K)... this rep tells me call back in 6 months.

Any advice?

Also, after getting approved I figured I'd go all out and request a BoA CLI. Card is 4 years old and still stuck at $500. They only gave me a $5,000 line on a $10k request, but better than nothing.

Now I have:

CITI - $6,000

JCPenney - $4,000

Discover More - $4,000

BoA Cash Rewards - $5,000

Chase Freedom - $2,500

probably should have done your BOA cli first-they will update it ASAP(wont have to wait for the next statement). Then you could have gone after the Discover with a couple of 5K lines reporting. I think youll just have to wait the 6 months, or hope through good usage and payment habits they give you an auto cli on their own.

The easiest way to do it, IMO, is to keep using their cards heavily for 6 months, and or say that you want to make a big purchase on their card, they love to see usage from what I have heard and what others have said. Also, just pay on time and explain to them you are a loyal customer, and if that doesn't work either, just be patient. Remember the CC companies need our business, we don't need theirs, we can survive without it them if it ever came down to it...just saying.
