Q about Walmart Discover

Is this a GE card or a Discover card? It shows on my CR as GECRB/WALMART.
If this is a GE card, will a good payment history with this card have any additional positive influence if I apply for a "real" Discover card on Discover.com?

GE Discover is a GE card that runs through the Discover system is how I understand it. As far as if it will help with Discover in the future...I don't know.

Q2. No more or less influence than good history on another card. The fact it is Discover does not increase its influence.

I think I found the answer to #1 in the small print. It's a GE card.

Discover®, Discover® Network and the Discover® Network Acceptance Mark are service marks used by GE Capital Retail Bank under license from Discover Financial Services.

Since it is a GE card, the Discover also feels the CLI love then, just like the store only card, I am assuming?

It's a GE card run throu Discover network.......samething with Capital One run throu Mster/Visa

the walmart card is managed through GECRB like everyone said. They have a license from discover network to use their logo on the Walmart Discover BUT the account is soley managed through GE. On my CR my sams discover shows up as GECRB/SAMSDISC

Discover, I dont think looks at your credit report and says, "hey this person has a discover branded card... lets extend credit." I do think they will see the tradeline and see the good history and see it as another positive account and base their decision on those factors and whatever other underwriting criteria they might have. I think the walmart card is a great card and GE is wonderful about CLI every 4 months and they have great 0% offers quite frequently. The real Discover is great as well. I like the quarterly 5% as well as shop discover where you can potentially earn up to 20% sometimes more on their bonus days.
