Why dont you call Amex and ask them for the status. If you dont have any bad credit, you should not have any issue getting the card. It is possibly lost in the system. Call and find out.

For anyone who was added as AU, how long did it take between primary card holder requesting your addition and your receiving the card?

I just added my brother (not actually getting the cards) should be here Saturday (by my guess)

Parents are out of town. I do have bad credit, one reason I'm looking to be AU. To date, there has been no Amex pull. Hoping it took the 7-10 days for approval and now 7-10 days to receive.

If that is the case, why not start with a Secured Credit card from a local CU and then start working on getting some of the negative items removed. You are in the right forum to do that. There are so many people here to help you. You should start working on doing DVT and PFD. Good Luck.

The advice here already has been invaluable.

I got a bunch off with disputes, i was making payments on some CAs before i knew better, I PIF a med collection AND called the doc and paid his collection fees.

I am doing Amex AU because it will help with my score/credit/history length

I still have few outstanding, mostly on Experian that am contacting a Credit Attorney (not repairman about) such as:

Asset Acceptance: I PIF in late August after making sporadic payments in '07 due to a summons they sent. They sued me again in August w/o notifying me, so when I called to PIF they said ok we'll update your judgement(!). Even though PIF, account is listed as Open (even it were not PIF the account is closed) AND as late as 12/07 they listed a 90+ days late.

Midland/Professional Collections: Two out of SOL debts, whose DOLA I dispute (off by at least a year so shouldn't even be reported, not to mention the $). As far as I can tell, unless I had disputed these years ago, all they have to do to verify basically is to look in their DB and say yes you are in our DB. No need to provide ME with contracts, statements, nothing. Also they list accounts CO'd 5+ years back as OPEN, and they list 90+ days late as recent as 1 1/2 years ago.

I have my scores up to 650-670, but would like these off and would like the Amex AU back on.

If you have 650 - 670 have you tried to get a Classic Delta SkyMiles card. App for it. You might get it on your own. Once you get the card then you can always ask for another card as AU and ask them to adjust both to the AU issue date. With your scores, you might be able to get Classic Delta on your own. GIve it a try.

One card I really want to apply for is Amazon, since I buy everything through them online, and they ask me each time to apply for their card. My sister did this with her account and got an $8k limit.

Later you can change it to Blue. Stay away from BOA / Citi and other major players. It is waste of time and waste of hard inq's. I think you could try for juni cards ( Barclay's) You might be able to get a card from them.

majors do not like collections present or past. I have 14 biz accounts with citi. But they would not give me a personal card because I have a paid collection from 3 years ago. So dont waste your time on them for now.
