BOA bill pay

Ok so i'm new to BOA and just have a credit card with them, now I was going to add my Chase checking account online so I could pay the bill but I don't see where I can add that... it seems you need to have a BOA checking account to use online bill pay.. is there anyone that can shed some light on this for me? Do I have to pay with checks to BOA?

I have a BoA credit card as well, without any other BoA accounts. Did you click on Pay Bills (or something to that effect), the tab at the top of the page? Then it should take you to a payment screen where you can add your bank account.

I do not like their website. It's confusing and not really user-friendly. Hope this helps.

I haven't got my card yet, but DH's account can be paid from either our joint account or from my USAA account.

It's been a while since I set it up, and I'm trying to re-create it, but try going to your account page and hit
- view options (to the right of where your balance is shown)
- pay now
- pay
- add payment account

That should take you to a screen with a photo of a check and arrows pointing to which is the routing number, which is the account number, etc.

Unfortunately, BofA has glommed up so many smaller banks, I don't know if your screen looks anything at all like ours.

***BTW, be sure to re-set the date for payment. I think it defaults to the last possible due date.***

A-ha! I'm sorry, it didn't register on me that we're talking about two different things. We don't use bill pay, because I just don't trust it. We do pay our bills online from the BofA site, but they don't pay automatically.

On that main screen, we just click on the "view options" just to the right of where your $0.00 balance displays, and go on from there. Sorry, didn't mean to send you chasing rabbits!

That's the same screen I have when I log into my account. Then, I would click on Bill Pay at the top, and then add account.

That's so weird that you received that message. Maybe it is because your account is still new. How new is it? Any further options when you click on "View Options"?

yea i dont want to setup like an automatic payment, I just want to be able to pay from my chase checking account, anyway heres another image, I tried clicking pay but it brings me to the same billpay screen, also the account in like 4 days old but i'm afraid to buy anything on the card incase i cant add my checking account
edit: also ive tried looking through the account services and all i can really see is to add info like changing email or address but no where do i see add bank info

First click the "Bill Pay" tab.

Then, click the "Payment Accounts" tab at the top of the page. It will say--

Use this page to manage your payment account information. Add payment accounts, edit existing payment accounts or delete payment accounts.

Then click "Add Payment Account."

That should work.

You're right. I apologize--your page does look different than mine. I'm wondering if BoA makes you wait until after your very first statement's closing date before you can set up Bill Pay. Has your first statement generated yet?

That's probably the case psychic.

I use Chase's online payment system too.

But I used BoA's online bill pay system to pay my very first bill. You have to register before you can use it though. And it's a one time payment unless of course, you set up reoccurring payments with them. It's pretty handy. All banking info saved for the next time you want to use it.

This is exactly the way DH's account looks. Once I'm on this screen, I click "Pay Now", right underneath where it says "Due on." From that point on, I just do what I had on my earlier post. Back when I set things up, I probably never even saw the "Bill Pay" link. I just blundered on through, the way I usually do on these things.

But it's entirely possible that you can't get far enough in to load in the bank info, as you don't yet have a balance displaying.
