American express cli advice

Ok , so ive had the card since july and started with a 15000 limit. Since its christmas I want to use the card a bit(only 1500-2000)..I would like to request an increase to 20000 so Im good with the utilization. My 2 questions are:

1. does it matter if I apply through automated or online and which is easier to get or it doesnt matter

2. ALso , Im afraid to try in case I get denied and then they decrease my limit since I felt the limit they gave me was ridiculous to begin with

Also one last thing , will they ask questions or try and get info for 20k limit?

2. no, unless you give them a reason to (maxing out other account from other creditor, etc)

No, according to many people, you can go up to 25k without they needing tax docs. Basically if you are approved with 15k, wait 61 days (since you have from July, you should ask now), go for 25k.

I just recently got my 3xCLI on my AMEX Delta card. I was as nervous as could be with this as initial app was borderline (They pulled EQ and TU and had EX from my earlier Zync app). Additionally, my last SP from them was 10/18 and I had high UTIL. I went well beyond the 61st day waiting on them to SP me again. They never did. Finally I just bite the bullet and hit the online luv button.

Instant 3xCLI approval. Went from 2k to 6k. I had ran a pretty good bit through this card (about 4k in the 2+ months that I had it) I also ran a very large amount through my Zync card (above 7k) and had paid it all off before hitting the CLI button.

You started with $15k, I would not worry about it and I would for sure NOT waste your chance to go from $15 to $25k.... not 3x current but if you don't want to push it, don't push for over $25k but otherwise I would not worry at all!

They counter if they won't approve full amount...

I know and thats why I want to do it but my main concern is that I really dont make any money..Im a student and so thats why I dont know how I got the 15k.Im just scared they will fr me and me not being able to show I make much

I didnt lie but I put I only make 20k..which is why I was suprised I got 15k..so Im trying to figuire out why they would give me 20k limit with 20k income lol.

I know im lucky which is why Im afraid lol..but IM still tempted to do it because if they gave me 15 , why not 20

I agree. I was approved with 5k, then went to 12k after 61 days. Things stayed there for a while, but recently I asked for a CLI to 20k -- no questions asked and it was done the same day.
