Amex didnt cancel my account

Amex FRd me a week or so ago and i decided to just cancel all 3 cards. That same day i got email saying that they had process my request to cancel all cards but i didnt finish reading that email. Well today i finally signed and i see Green and Gold had been cancelled but not BCE. I finish reading the message they had sent me and it said in order to close my BCE i had to call again to close and lose my cash back.

I sent them another message asking if my BCE its in good standing and they reply with yes and that its ready to use lol. I guess i still have my BCE.

Congrats! I think the BCE is the best, most flexible Amex!!

Platinum is on my list when I can afford the $450 AF!

I think me asking for a cli on my BCE monthly cause lt lol. Also the week before i received the letter i tried the spendind limit button in both charge cards and i was approved for 10k on both. I dont what caused it really. I also received a message saying they are gonna credit my BCE with $20.10 because of the points i had on Goldpr.

They let you keep the one with no AF. That's a gift. LOL.

It's funny. I was asking for a CLI almost monthly, then stopped for a couple months and they gave me the 3x CLI.

I wish people would please stop referring to this as an Amex FR. You asked for a CLI and Amex asked for income verification. Yes, it included asking for a 4506T, but the verification to support a CLI is not the same as the full-blown Amex FR.

Posts like this confuse the issue for everyone. It makes it seem like you slipped through the cracks and avoided an FR by having the charge cards canceled or something. The reality is that it simply never was an FR, in the sense that most people will understand that when reading this.

If I am mistaken and your cards were previously suspended, then I apologize. But I thought this had been discussed in previous threads and that it was just a request for info to support your CLI.

I would seriously have thought they would of closed the BCE first. But thats the card I would of wanted open any who

I forgot to update my original thread. After calling regular amex number on back of my card i was told that my accounts were in good standing and there was no notes about a FR. Well i decided to call the number in the letter i got and i was told that yes i needed to send that ASAP. And to also put my brothers name in B. Part of the paper because he was a AU on my goldPR. When he said that i told him to cancel all cards. And he told me he was gonna process that for me and i was gonna receive a email shortly. Thats why i was surprised to see my BCE is still open and in good standing. I forgot to try and use it yesterday will today just to see if it still works.
