So 4 charge offs from about 3+ years ago, 3 collections within past two years (low amounts and I'm working on pfd), 2 paid judgements and 1 repo not yet paid from 2009.

I have some good au accounts and one capital one from December 2011 with good payment history but low balance.

I'd love walmart for the tu score but I feel that jcpenney might be more reachable.

Thoughts?

If your TU is at least 590 you might have a chance. I did with no CCs at all to speak of. You will probably have a low CL, but hey free TU score.

You won't qualify for either and will waste a hard pull. If your fako is 600, my guess is your real FICO is somewhere in the 550's.

You could definitely try, but in my experience having a few collections like that will impact you. For me, I couldn't even get a Macy's card when I had just 2 collections on my acct that were 5 years old. Tell me about your Authorized User stuff, that may get you qualified if it's a high enough amount (2000+) and for a long period of time.

They are both underwritten by GECRB so you have an equal chance of getting either one. I think you have a better chance of getting Walmart however out of the two.

JCP and Walmart will pull TU. IMO, your scores should be around 620.

YMMV

For me, Walmart pulled Experian. It really depends on where in the country you are that will dictate the bureau they use for the pull.

How many inquiries do you have on your report? Anything new reporting? If those AU's have been on your report for a while and you have nothing new reporting (a brand new collection as an example), then I'd say you have a 50/50 chance with Walmart or JCpenney or anything else from GE (banana republic, chevron, etc.).

I'd say give it a shot as long as you don't have like 10 inquiries. Have you tried to see if you got a pre-approval from Comenity via the shopping card trick?

I'm opted out so the shopping cart trick is a no go.
I have about 3-5 inquiries from over 12 months ago depending on which bureau you look at.

Roll the dice if you want. I was in the same position as you about 5 months ago. I app'd for about 4 different so called easy cards and was turned down for all due to a few collections. You may have better luck than me. The easiest cards to get are:

Walmart

JcPenney

Macy's

Express

You could try your luck with one of those if you want to roll the dice. You never know what could happen. Hopefully those collections are older. If they are, you may have a fighting chance but I wouldn't guarantee anything. I actually app'd for all 4 of those 6 months ago and was declined because of some 5 year old collections.
