Barclay Apple Card

So i've been thinking about purchasing iPad 3. I was looking into the barclay visa apple card. With my current scores as it stands, should I try to apply? I've been reading about some people getting approved with low credit scores? Any experience?

I did recently purchase a car, no missed payments.

I applied for Cap 1 secure card recently and I'm mailing in my deposit this week.

IMO I would not app for it, it's too early and with your current scores its almost a guaranteed denial.

I've seen quite a few posts in which Barclays requested to see some history with other credit cards. Reconning said decisions are not very sucessful. I wouldn't waiste my time... garden your Cap1 for a year or so then give Barclay's a shot! TBH try getting a BoA secured card a try... It seems as though their secured card is one of the best.

Good advice! Thank you both. Also, I'm going to take a look into the BoA secured card. I think it'll be worth getting on board. I'd like to see an increase in my scores in the next year. Thanks again.

Pay your bills on time, keep utl down and you will see a huge increase in a year!

The upgraded version of the iPad 2 has been out, yes. I wouldn't say putting a better screen on it justifies it being called the iPad 3, which is why Apple didn't name it that

What was the difference from the iPad 1 to the 2? The computing power is a huge difference in the iPad 3, and they do not number them by generation anymore, hence the iPhone 4S. I own an electronic company, and the iPad 2 box (which we have instock) says "iPad"

EDIT: Also note they dont number macbook pros or iPods, etc. How many macbook pros are we on at this point?

Offtopic (sorry PD and mods) but they actually do number MBP's internally: expected release of the new one at WWDC will be 9.1 vs my old 2007 one being 3.1. Just because it's not on the box doesn't mean there's not other identifiers for versioning .

More on topic: I'm interested in hearing others stories regarding the Apple card too; I don't remember details but likewise I've seen others be approved in the significantly subprime range.

OP, you may also want to talk to a local credit union or the bank that you do business with. They may have some sort of program to help you get your credit started.

I was shocked I was rencently approved for the apple barclay visa.

I was given 7-10 at first, but quickly called to recon, and was approved.

Give that card about 6mo. of use. Pull your FICOs, and then you may very well be in a position to app their card. In Feb, I was in worse shape then yourself.

I do not know if anyone realizes this or not but there are technically 4 generations of the ipad out. Just saying.

I just applied online from a link at the apple store. I was instantly denied. I called the credit analyst from the sticky up top and after a couple of dumb questions that I already filled out on my app and why is my history so short, he asked how much I wanted. I said 1500 but now I'm thinking I should have went with 2 or 2.5. Will they be mad that I'm only going to spend 215.

Not sure what report they pull but from my research it's TU and my score there was 686 last month with 20% util. It's now at 2% so it should be a bit higher. 1 inq from sept and newest cards are discover 9/12 and amex 10/12.
