I just had a great customer service exp from Macys

Just opened my card at macys on the 20th. Come to find out my limit was a whopping 200.00 none the less I was thrilled because this was my very very first store credit card besides target.

I told him I was looking at a cookware set that was 400 dollars. Asked them how long will I need to wait for a credit limit increase they said hold on and raised my credit to 700.00 bucks!

The guy was very nice.

So my relationship with Macy's has started off on the right foot and I plan on keeping it that way.

That's a great idea! I might try that with Sears. I've been a customer for 11 years, no late payments (that they have marked in their system due to GW letter), but only have a limit of $250. They said they'd have to do a hard inquiry if I wanted a CLI. I'm avoiding those until after I get my first mortgage in the next 6th months though.

wow clearing..i only got $300 i thought about calling when i got my card but didnt from posts most people say they are good w/cli..but yes it's hard finding something for less than$300

The reason most people get tiny lines with Macy's is because: until they verify you, no cli. If you've app'd online and received the card......call them and they'll up your line immediately.

If you app in the store, the line is usually bigger. Don't wait CALL NOW. At the 3 mo mark, a cli should be in order
