Number for Discover recon?

I just got a decline letter in the mail from Discover listing "Too many new accounts with balances" as the reason. Since this isn't about any actual derogs on my report, I'm hoping I can recon this.

I tried calling 1-800-Discover but no one knew what I meant by reconsideration. There is no number listed on the letter I received, so I was hoping one of you folks might know.

Thanks a lot! I called and spoke with someone in new accounts who is going to reevaluate my credit report. I specifically asked for not TransUnion. They said they will let me know in a week or so.

Glad I can be of some use! Good luck I am aiming for Discover on June 16th, along with Citi, and Amex. Their More card has a nice CB program and they are know for great customer service.

Was it successful? I just got denied for the very same reason you did and wanted to recon.

Shot down in a ball of flames. I am going to try again in a couple months when my accounts age a bit more.

Oh gosh...sorry to hear that! I think I will wait too. I just got a new account opened recently (student loan) along with the other CCs I opened a few months ago so I might have to wait longer. Oh well. Thanks for letting me know!

I have lots of new accounts (14 in the last year, several closed) and Discover approved me-

However I am not holding balances on those cards-

Hmm...you know what? I just re-read the denial letter and I was wrong. They denied me due to "past and/or present delinquent credit obligations" which is absurd because nothing is delinquent. Just checked my CRs I pulled on 4/26 from myFico to double-check and I don't see any past delinquent accounts either. Anyone think the recon will work in my favor now?
