Discover Card- App being reviewed, now they want a call!

I recently did a app for a Discover card and just received an email that said the following, "Thank you for your recent Discover(R) Card application. We are
currently reviewing your request and need some additional information
to continue processing. Please call us toll free at 866-421-0122,
Mon-Fri 9am-Midnight ET, Sat 9am-2pm ET "

Is this a good sign? I know my scores aren't high, but they didn't flat out deny me like most creditors. Has anyone had any luck with the ...additional questions bid...any success stories or should I chuck this up as another DENIAL.

At this stage I would not count that as a denial at all.

I got the same message the day after I applied last Monday night. Only for me I got an automated phone message asking me to call them. I called immediately, gave them the info and was approved right then and there.

I guess you were correct. Today, I call the number they gave me and got some bad news & good news. The bad news is that I was not approved for the Discover Motiva; however, I was approved for the Direct Rewards Platinum Card through HSBC. I guess thats a fair shake. The CSR could not provide me with a CL, said I would receive the card in 7 days. APR 0 for six months, then 6% after.

I got turned down and was offered the HSBC Discover but I told them I didn't want that card but it came in the mail a week later

I'm not Sylvia (tho we share some traits) but I app'd and was approved on the same day. They pulled EX (656) for me in IN.

Discover pulled TU on me. My most recent TU score was generated on 01/18/07 with a 655

How come they pulled EX for me which is the lowest of all. If it was TU I might have had a better chance of getting it.

Maybe because they are regionalized. Pull EX in the North, TU in the south, etc. Something like that?

NICKI183 CONGRATULATIONS .

Last couple months i apply for WAL-MART CARD,and i was hoping to get WAL-MART DISCOVER CARD,but i get the regular card .

My score as of 11/30/07 EXP 669 ,TU 630 & EQ ?

MY DREAM IS TO JOIN 700 CLUB IN 2008 .

Thanks creditdream, but in reviewing this card with some others they say its not really a DISCOVER card. Also, the limit is horrible

I am not suprised with the scores I have, but was a little confused and excited that it has the DISCOVER logo.

Since, it's not financed by DISCOVER and is really financed by HSBS it really doesnt' mean much. THe CL is very very very low, not enough to buy a TV {LMAO}.

I already have a few cards from HSBC and they NEVER increase the CL.

I guess history has a way of coming back to haunt you. I guess in five more years I can try again for a REAL Discover card....

Congrats!

I use to be a Discover card member, paid them off before things went down here, perhaps one of these days. Man I consider them one of the last of the "special" cards. They were always good to me sigh....

Sorry for the thread jack......... Sylviatob I just received a call from Discover this morning at work and after answering a couple questions she said "let me be the first to welcome you to Discover" WOO HOOO so im celebrating along with you. A yr ago I could get a card to save my life now AMEX,Discover and a couple other sweet cards, Once again thanx Fico Forum Members.

Now im truly done Finally an AMEX and Discover.
