So, I'm new with Discover.

When I initially received my card (in January), it showed Q2 as Spring Fashion (or something similar) not Home Improvement.

Am I imagining things or did they really switch their categories? Does this happen often?

I like this. I have been considering buying a Weber Grill (do not usually go on sale, so 5% cashback is nice) and doing a lawn renovation.

Well, since I don't own my home that category isn't going to be very useful for me. I'll still use the card for ShopDiscover during that quarter, though, and they are getting a lot more action from me now that I've PCed to the Discover It and I'm getting 1% for my other purchases.

It very well could have. Users on another forum dug into the source code on the Discover page way back in December and saw that it was supposed to be home improvement and clothing stores.

Oh well, the addition of clothing stores wouldn't have made much difference to me anyway. I need to garden for a little while before I app for this card.

DARN, I was really hoping the clothing store bit was true. It would have been really useful for me. I don't shop at Home Depot and stuff

My parents are in the process of renovating their kitchen though so if they need stuff from home improvement stores, I can use my Discover and they can just pay me back so I get the 5% cashback.

I'm 99% sure clothing stores will be included as well. Also, don't forget that you can buy gift cards at Lowe's to many different places. I'm very pleased with this option.

Boring quarter for me, as well. We get 5% off at the register with my DH's Lowe's, so this is not something that I'm going to jump up and down about.
