I did it , my accomplishment is significant with all the big fish around here throwing their 20k + like it's NOTHING but for a measley year worth of hard working in my credit I feel very complete to begin my journey at a 5000 limit and counting for an upgrade tomarrow. I did my best to be coming in strong , I do not want any low balling cards so I'm shopping around hoping to come together on my 10,000 credit show off with such little time but i am more than happy it's not like I'll be using any of that credit I aquire it will sit like money in the bank basically because I know to have credit I have to continue to pay my credit and I'm so happy this is one thing I get - somehow don't get how but I think it was with all your help and good advice thank you to the posting people I ran into with all sorts of ideas and sharing their stories and how they started out and how they aren't huge. In their own eyes but to me credit is a HUGE deal, and an amazing accomplishment for someone like me to have ive come a long way in a short time I plan on staying here I'm coming along nicely as planned ... It can only get better from here .. Thanks

Lastly, entitled means "to be qualified for or allowed." The word you want to use in your second (first, technically) sentence is titled. Have you ever read this book you so highly recommend?

I am sorry that my joke went over your head. Ironically enough, in your attempt to slay me you made yourself look a little silly. According to dictionary.com, entitle means "to call by a particular name: What was the book entitled?" Also, "to give (a person or thing) a title, right, or claim to something..." My post was facetious, but the sad part is that yours was serious. I will just leave it at that -- though I would be happy to continue this conversation via private message (I will not be this polite via pm, however.).

The person that was "Just Watchin" was a mod who I think has the ablity to lock the thread, not that I see anything worth locking it over so far.

Unless I'm mistaken, and I noticed others confirm; the OP applied for a card and was approved for 5k (and may have a total of 10k now in credit lines?). The post kind of left me a bit confused as to it's meaning, meaning I wasn't sure what Ready13 was saying exactly.

Thanks for whoever translated the original poster's message. It was confusing. I guess the person was approved for a 5k limit in a card. To that same person, it is not a horserace and it is ok to be approved for lower limits first and then maybe get CLIs. If given the choice, I would prefer to get approved a year before for a 500 dollar CL than wait for my credit to imtprove for a higher CL. That is because I would rather have a tradeline aging and worry about the high limit later. I think the best way to obtain a high credit limit if one is rebuilding or starting from scratch is to save up a few thousand dollars and get a secured card for 3 or 4k. Then when you app for other cards they will follow suit give you higher limits.
