Paying First Citi Card Statement

I saw on an old thread here that others have had trouble with paying the first Citi statement online. I just got my card in late February and want to pay off the balance I have now before the statement close.

When I go to pay it online, it says "Last Statement Balance - 03/04/2013 : $0.00"

I also have a current balance recorded on there, which is the amount I want to pay. However, when I select current balance, or when I select "other" and type in that same amount, it tells me "You have entered an amount greater than your last statement balance. Please re-enter an amount less than or equal to your statement balance."

I'm not sure what to do or how to pay it. Has anyone been successful in countering this problem?

How about try using your banks online bill pay?

if your statement balance is zero, that means no payment is due.

you might try using online bill pay from your bank though to send a payment.

I had no problem paying after the 1st statement cut, but it wouldn't let me pay it off early.

you have to let the first statement cut. if you do a bill payment from you bank you take a chance of citi rejecting it and the money being in limbo for a week

I had the same very issue. You can pay the entire balance by phone only- you have to speak with rep. After the first statement cuts, you will be able to pay entire balances on-line without any problems.
