cap one EO...denied :-/

So I've had my secured card about 9 months and the unsecured $500 card, and its the credit builder steps one, and last week they auto.increased to $750. Well I emailed eo and got a call back from a nice lady and I requested $1500 limit and to waive either of the annual fees. She just called back and said it was denied and ill receive a letter, and she's still waiting to hear about the annual fees. I asked to graduate my secured card to unsecured and she said they don't do that. I'm a little disappointed. I've not read one story of anyone getting denied through the EO, and its not like I was asking for a ridiculous increase. Oh well. I'll stick with nfcu for increases.

Hopefully they will waive your fees. Regarding your req for CLI, there have been postings that all requests have not been successful. You were able to get an increase last week so you are on the right road.

By the way..., I posted last week that my DH req, a CLI, waiver of AF and/or APR reduction on his Orchard card he's had for 5 years. They said yes to the fees and decreased his APR but no to the CLI.

Personally I wouldn't have asked for a CLI right after you got an auto one. I would have waited a couple months for one and from what I have read Cap One is extremely conservative with CLI. Although if you don't hear a yes for the AFs now I would try again when it is closer to them being charged.

I've just heard endless success stories of people requesting increases right after the auto increases so I thought I had a shot . Oh well!

I think that's on GE cards. Cap 1 usually is not that generous.

sorry to hear for the CLI denial but if you just got the credit step increase than i assume you had the card for about 3 months or so...you probably wanna wait at least 6 if not 1 year to ask for an increase. Try in another 6 months and i think your chances will greatly improve.

Nope, like I said I've had it about 8 months. They do the increase after the 7th statement I believe.
GE denied me for Wal-Mart, but nfcu approved my increases. So ill take what I can get and stop being greedy! Still got a lot of work today so I'm not discouraged

I meant a lot of work to do, not today enjoying my first day of training at a credit repair company, the trainer is irritated with me because I already know everything he's teaching us haha.

I'm not surprised...you just got an auto CLI on your credit steps card which is most likely going to be stuck there forever. You've only had the cards for ~9mths give it more time. There are people contacting the EO that have had their cards for years and years and still not all are successfully getting increases, etc. Use the Cap1 builder cards for what they are and then go from there. I have a Cap1 Plat card that has been stuck at $750 for over 2yrs, and have came to terms with it b/c I know thats what the card is made for. I plan on sometime soon closing that card and moving on.

oh my bad, i thought it was your secured one that you had for 9 months. Well, you will eventually see all the hard work pay off in time. I have started that journey to great credit and we will both eventually get there!...
