Just got accepted today! How tough are they? When it comes to applying for their cards.

For me, they were tough.

My credit scores hovers around (just above and just below) 800, virtually no debt (paid off each payday or sooner in most cases), and nothing negative on the credit report.

The lady told me I had to fax in pay stubs, tax returns, and give them permission to speak to HR dept to verify employment and pay. (Rental income did not count.) I thought that was outrageous given my credit report. She said it was standard. All of that for a credit card. (My cc's have high limits, so this was shocking!).

I decided it was not worth the effort.

Things could have changed. I might have had a tough rep. Who knows?

Call up and ask what they require. That is what I had done. And please let us know what they say!

They were not that hard for me. I was pre-approved for their Visa last July when I refi'd my truck with them. 9k lmit not bad at all!! Got a 3K HP CLI 3 months later.

Just applied for the visa. Application is on hold due to no credit history. I applied with my new name whenever that happens it shows no credit history since my new name is only a few nonths old. They pull experian. They also mentioned they look for scores mid 600s. They said if youre self employed or had negative information on your reports they require more documents to approve the card or loan. For me they just want two most recent pay stubs.

I am guessing I didnt get denied might be an approval just waiting on my stubs.

Any update pineapple?

I'm thinking about applying for this card, but I doubt I'd get approved with a PR on my EX report. I'll give them a call to see what they think.

So was that a pre-approval from the website? Did you get a message that you were pre-approved for that card or did you have to apply?

I applied I was interested. They couldnt pull up any of my reports so I had to verify income and copy of ss and license. Then was approved. I asked for 2000. You can ask from 500 to 20000

I just tried and they denied me. Looks like I won't be getting a car loan from them either. If it wasn't for the EX FICO, I would dump them.

I have an old PR on my EX. I applied over the phone and asked questions but the woman said she couldn't give me any answers. I was forwarded to a loan originator who sounded like a total ditz. That's what made me most mad, not the denial. I already had a feeling I'd be denied but said what the h, go for it. It's ok, they just won't be getting any of my business for the next year.

Ah. I see. I am sorry and totally can understand the ditz thing. It's very annoying the minute I get uncomfortable or out of my happy go lucky nood I dont apply and just reapply later. :/

Thanks pineapple. I almost thought about applying for Chase Freedom or Discover It just looking for an approval. But those are two cards I really want so I'll wait until I'm ready. I didn't really need the PSECU card, just thought I might use it for BTs and the low APR.

congrats to the op on his approval, psecu is great they are my fav cu. for those who get declined dont get discouraged just keep working on it. I was declined 2 or 3 times over a year and a half before i was eventually approved. They kept declining me for too many inquiries and new accounts so I went into the garden just for them and apped when everything had aged off, approved with no problems.

Im in the garden now for USAA, no apps till november, then USAA is MINE! lol. USAA is the last card on my list and will be my last app for a long time.
