So, I just applied to First USA for their united airlines signature card...I had a First USA with a low limit from 1995 never late and I closed...

Since I had excellent payment history on that account with that influence their decision since I had an account with them already?

Chase acquired First USA a few years ago. I still occasionally find references to First USA on literature pertaining to my Chase accounts. My two Chase accounts are 14 and 22 years old now. I'm hoping that now we've established that we're talking about Chase, someone who has recent experience with their application and approval process can chime in, and answer your question.
